MOVEMENT SKILLS
Our aim is to develop a physically literate child. Physical literacy is when a child has developed skills, confidence and love of movement to be physically active.
Fundamental movement skills are movement patterns that involve various body parts and provide the basis of physical literacy. These skills are the foundational movements to more specialised and complex skills used in play, games and specific sports.
Physical literacy describes the ability of a person to instruct the body to perform an action accurately and with confidence. These are the building blocks for any child to not only become a competent sportsman but also leads to a more confident child socially. It is a fact that not every child will become a professional sportsman, but we can ensure that every child is also taught the fundamental movement, life & social skills they will be able to use throughout their lives.
